Glenn Pierce (Chairman)

Mr. Pierce recently retired as the President of Education Initiatives at Turner Impact Capital. Prior to the formation of Turner-Agassi, he was the founder and CEO of Pacific Charter School Development, a nonprofit developer of charter school campuses based in Los Angeles. Over the past two decades, he and his teams built more almost 200 schools serving over 85,000 at-risk students and their families. He has been a leader in the charter
school movement since 1997, following management roles with Citibank and PepsiCo. He holds an AB in Economics and Business from Lafayette College and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate Citicorp’s Institute for Global Finance and the Broad Superintendents Academy. He is the parent of a child with autism.

Robert Cambo (Vice Chairman)

Mr. Cambo is the CEO of Alliance Companies, a private real estate development company based in Coconut Grove, which has built four (4) charter school campuses serving 4,000 students over the last four (4) years. In addition, he has developed over 1 million square feet of commercial space since 1994. Mr Cambo is a graduate of Harvard University’s Real Estate Leadership program in 2006 and earned his MBA from the University of Miami in 1989. Mr. Cambo is very active in the autism community and a Silver Sponsor of Autism Speaks and UM/NSU CARD. He is also the parent of a child with autism

Yadira Martinez-Fernandez, M.D. (Secretary/Treasurer)

Dr. Martinez-Fernandez is a Board certified pediatric cardiologist who practices in South Florida. She graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras as physician in general medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, and graduated from the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital as a Pediatric Cardiologist. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and fellow member of the American Academy of Cardiology. She is also the mother of three children on the autism spectrum, and very active in the autism community

Carrie Landess, M.D.

Dr. Landess is a neurologist who practices in North Miami Beach, Florida. She graduated from Cornell University in 1984 with a degree and psychology, and received her medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamon, Puerto Rico in 1989. Dr. Landess has practiced in South Florida since 1994. She is also the parent of a child with autism, and very active in the autism community.

Michael C. Marsh, J.D.

Mr. Marsh is a partner at Akerman Senterfit and concentrates his practice in commercial lawsuits, including securities and other class action defense, counting fraud, Ponzi schemes, D&O liability, professional liability, shareholder disputes, and corporate transactions. Michael’s practice also focuses on corporate governance and compliance issues, including matters arising from federal and state agencies investigations. Drawing on more than 20 years of business litigation experience, Michael has provided strategic and other advice to clients on issues relating to day-to-day operations, major restructuring, and corporate mergers and acquisitions.

William “Max” Wyler

Mr. Wyler lives in Palmetto Bay. He has four children; two in college, Samantha (22) and Carly (19), and two athome, Alexandra (17) and William “J.C” (11). Alexandra was diagnosed with autism at 25 months. Max has a B.S. in Finance from Kansas State (Fort Hays) University. Co-founder (1988) Accord Productions, owner The Beach Channel 2009. He has received many production related awards including (1989) Angel Award“Easter Seal” Documentary, (1995) Vision Award “Corporate Imagination”, (2002) Telly Award “This is CARD”, (2009) Telly Award “Takin It to Tempe”. He has served on the Board of the UM/NSU CARD center as well as current board member for the Florida Emmy awards.

Cicily Payne-Nestor, D.C. (Parent Representative)

Dr. Payne-Nestor is a registered chiropractic physician and a Certified Medical Examiner. Dr. Payne-Nestor lives in Miami with her husband and they are the proud parents of three boys, two of which are affected by Autism. Dr. Payne-Nestor graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor’s in Biology in 1997 and Life University with a Doctorate in Chriropractic in 2002. She has been a parent at SFACS for nine years, and is the current President of the SFACS Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO).

Robin Parker, CCC-SLP (Member Emeritus)

Dr. Parker served on the SFACS Governing Board from 2009 until her death in July of 2014. She was a Program Professor and clinical supervisor in the Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Nova Southeastern University. She was also the consulting director of the UM-NSU, Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, Nova Satellite. Dr. Parker worked with children and adults with autism spectrum disorders for over 20 years, focusing her clinical and teaching work with individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Parker was a member of the American and Florida Speech, Language, and Hearing Associations. She was a beloved member of the SFACS family and will be greatly missed.
